ABOUT ME

An Emmy-winning Producer and Creative Director with over 20 years of experience in unscripted programming and branded content, Rafael operates at the highest level of story, culture, and craft. His work spans long-form documentary series, Cannes Award-winning branded content, and large-scale global productions including WWDC, Stream On, and People’s Choice Awards.

In 2022, he produced Welcome to Wrexham, which earned five Emmy wins, adding to his four Sports Emmy nominations. He went on to produce the Untold documentary series for Netflix and the Apple TV+ docuseries They Call Me Magic, chronicling the life of Magic Johnson.

Born and raised in Brazil and fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, his international lens has shaped projects including Fearless for Netflix, 100 Foot Wave for HBO, and the James Beard Award-winning series Street Food. In 2023, he directed the feature documentary Las Jefas in the Dominican Republic, set for release in 2025.

Across post-production and field production, he has supervised story teams, shaped narrative arcs across hundreds of hours of television, and conducted more than 100 interviews with global cultural figures including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Misty Copeland, Halsey, Demi Lovato, The Doors, Erykah Badu, Brené Brown, and Bill Simmons.

Beyond television, he is a music producer, film and television composer, and classically trained musician, with original music featured across major platforms and networks.

As a Creative Director, he brings a rare synthesis of editorial precision, cinematic instinct, and branded storytelling expertise. In a landscape increasingly shaped by AI and automation, his work stands apart for its originality, emotional intelligence, and creative depth.
